Liquidity follows pricing. List too high and you'll sit; too low and you lose money. The trick is looking at sold comps, not active listings.
Where to look
- eBay sold listings — filter to "Sold items" for last 30 days, exclude best offer
- PriceCharting — historical sold averages by condition
- TCGplayer Market Price — for non-graded
- PSA Auction Prices Realized — for graded slabs
Adjust for protection
A buyer paying via RareLink gets a real inspection window and tracking-gated payout. That's worth 5–8% over a sketchy Facebook deal. Don't undercut yourself just because you're new — your trust score signals are doing work too.
Adjust for grading
- PSA 10 vs PSA 9: usually 1.5–3x for modern, 5–10x for vintage
- CGC 10 trades 5–15% below PSA 10 in most modern Pokémon
- BGS 9.5 with all 9.5+ subgrades often clears at PSA 10 prices
