1. Acceptance
By creating a RareLink account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What RareLink is — and is not
RareLink is a software platform that lets users create protected checkout links and a marketplace for trading-card transactions. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe") under Stripe's own terms.
RareLink uses protected checkout through Stripe. The phrase refers to Stripe's separate-charges-and-transfers payment pattern under which buyer funds remain in Stripe's custody until RareLink initiates a transfer to the seller's connected account. RareLink does not hold buyer funds in its own bank account.
RareLink is not a money transmitter. Under Stripe's payment facilitator model and the FinCEN secured-transaction guidance, RareLink's role is limited to platform services. Users in certain jurisdictions (currently NY, TX, CT) may not be supported.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, a US resident, and able to form a binding contract under your state law.
4. Stripe Connect
Sellers must complete Stripe Connect Express onboarding before listing items. By doing so you agree to Stripe's Connected Account Agreement and Stripe's privacy policy.
5. Fees
RareLink charges a 1% platform fee on the item price (not shipping). Stripe processing fees apply separately and are pass-through. Buyer protection fee (2.5%) is charged to buyers at checkout. Optional instant payout is 1%.
6. Prohibited items
You may not list:
- Counterfeit or reproduction cards represented as authentic
- Cards or sealed products you do not have legal title to
- Items prohibited by Stripe's acceptable use policy
- Items prohibited by USPS, UPS, or FedEx for shipment
- Cards subject to a recall, lawsuit, or rights dispute
7. Inspection window and disputes
Buyers have 72 hours after carrier-confirmed delivery to inspect the item. Within that window the buyer may either accept (releasing funds) or open a dispute (freezing funds for admin review). If no action is taken by the deadline, funds release automatically to the seller.
Disputes are resolved by RareLink's admin team using the evidence submitted. Possible outcomes include full refund, partial refund, or release to seller. Decisions are final on the platform but do not prevent the parties from pursuing separate legal remedies. Stripe chargebacks override platform decisions.
8. Trust score
RareLink maintains a trust score (0–100) for each seller. RareLink may adjust the score at its discretion. RareLink may suspend or terminate accounts based on score or behavioral signals without advance notice.
9. Intellectual property
RareLink's name, logo, and software are property of RareLink. Listing photographs remain the property of the seller who uploaded them; by uploading, the seller grants RareLink a non-exclusive license to display the photographs in connection with the listing.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RareLink's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of $100 USD or the platform fees paid by the claimant in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify RareLink against any claim arising from your sale or purchase of items on the platform, including but not limited to claims related to authenticity, condition, shipping, taxes, and intellectual property.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [TBD] without regard to conflict of laws principles.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced via email or product notification at least 7 days before they take effect.
