The 7-step money rail
Every RareLink transaction follows the same path. No surprises, no hostage negotiations, no "PayPal me and trust me bro."
If you're selling
Create an account
Email + password. Takes 30 seconds. Buyer or seller, you can be both.
Connect Stripe Express
Stripe verifies your identity in ~3 minutes. RareLink never sees your bank details.
Photograph the card
Front, back, corners, surface. Our uploader guides you through the required shots.
Generate a protected link
Title, set, condition, price. A `/c/[slug]` URL is created — share it anywhere.
Buyer pays securely
They click the link, see your trust badge, and pay. Funds are held by Stripe — not by you, not by us.
Ship with tracking
Required. Upload tracking number in the deal room. Carrier scans drive the inspection timer.
Get paid
72 hours after delivery — or sooner if the buyer accepts — funds transfer to your Stripe balance.
If you're buying
Open the link
Photos, price breakdown, seller trust score, protection terms — all on one screen.
Pay with card
Stripe Elements. Card data never touches RareLink servers. You can use Apple Pay, Google Pay, or any card.
Track the shipment
Deal room shows carrier, tracking number, and delivery scan in real time.
Inspect for 72 hours
Once delivered, you have 3 days to review. A live countdown shows the deadline.
Accept or dispute
Happy? One tap accepts and releases funds. Something wrong? Open a dispute — funds freeze for admin review.
How protection actually works
We're precise about the language here because buyers and sellers deserve to know exactly what happens to the money.
Funds held by Stripe
We use Stripe Connect's separate-charges-and-transfers pattern. Buyer money sits in Stripe's custody until the inspection window clears. It does not pass through a RareLink bank account.
Precise money rails
RareLink uses protected checkout with Stripe-held funds during inspection. High-value cards get a support-reviewed path.
Auto-release timer
If no dispute is opened within 72 hours of delivery, funds release automatically to the seller. Mercari-style — humans don't have to push a button.
Tracking-gated
Sellers cannot get paid without uploading tracking. Carrier delivery scan is what arms the inspection timer.
What happens if something goes wrong
- 1
Buyer opens dispute
One tap in the deal room. Funds freeze immediately. Admin is notified.
- 2
Admin reviews evidence
Photos, tracking, packing proof, message history. Phase 1 is human review; Phase 2 adds structured evidence upload.
- 3
Resolution
Refund, partial refund, or release to seller. Trust score adjusted on both sides. Decision is final unless Stripe chargeback overrides it.
- 4
Stripe chargeback (rare)
If a buyer escalates to their bank, Stripe handles the formal dispute. RareLink submits the evidence packet on the seller's behalf.
